Who's the Daddy Now?

Several years back, Pedro Martinez spoke the words, "Who's your daddy?" Well, tonight when he takes the mound, he should be thinking the same thing. He needs to continue his winning ways and be the "Daddy" of a club starting to lose its focus. He needs to remind his "sons" that this season doesn't need to turn into his once tenured team, the dreadful Mets.
Similarly, Phillies manager Charlie Manuel needs to take over the Daddy reigns of the team and sit these guys down for a heart to heart talk. However, he is not that kind of Daddy. Charlie, sometimes referred to as Uncle Charlie or Chuck, tends to take the layed back approach and let things "work themselves out."

This time good 'ol Uncle Charlie let it hit the fan. In his post game conference with the media, Charlie (bleeped) the gathering. He was "disgusted" at the effort put forth by his team. "We beat the Giants two games. We got tremendous starting pitching , but scoring three runs" won't get you many win many games. He went on to say "we've got to score more runs. We are playing tight" and that's not going to help.

For tonight, Charlie and Pedro need to be co-daddy's.

Pedro: Take ahold of the reigns and lead the way to the pitching you have shown us as a Phillie. Show some emotion that will motivate your teammates. Get Jimmy pumped and pushed the others to Chase October.

Charlie: Close that clubhouse door, let them know who is in charge and tell them you have faith in them. They are winners and success is ahead. Be the Daddy you know how.
